We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated MALE Disability Support Worker ( Hindi Speaking) to join our team at our Day Program Centre, primarily working with male participants. The successful candidate will assist individuals with varying abilities to engage in daily activities, promote independence, and support their overall well-being in a community-based setting. The role will require driving to community activities and appointments as part of the support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Support to Participants:
  • Assist male clients with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and mobility.
  • Provide physical and emotional support to individuals with intellectual, physical, or developmental disabilities.
  • Help clients with social and recreational activities, fostering social interaction, communication, and independence.
  • Facilitate and support clients in community outings, appointments, and events (may include driving participants).
  • Individualized Support Plans:
  • Collaborate with the team to implement individualized care and support plans.
  • Monitor and record clients' progress and daily activities, reporting any changes to supervisors.
  • Assist in setting personal goals with clients and encourage self-advocacy.
  • Community Engagement & Activities:
  • Encourage participation in a variety of community-based activities (sports, art, educational programs, etc.).
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social events, and community outings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Transportation Support:
  • Drive clients to and from the day program centre, appointments, or community outings.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers during transport.
  • Safety and Well-Being:
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment, responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Assist clients in managing challenging behaviors or situations with appropriate techniques and interventions.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other staff members, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure optimal care.
  • Attend regular team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $30.00 – $55.00 per hour
