Payroll Analyst

We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Analyst to join our team at our Support Office on St Kilda Road We are Australia's largest specialty homewares retailer with over 300 stores nationally. Our stores are the only destination for all cooking, baking, entertaining and gift giving essentials.
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will work to develop, implement, and analyse payroll reports to ensure compliance with relative awards & EBA's, while aligning with the core requirements of the business. This role will play an important part in providing fresh insights to a growing business and supporting the payroll department during multiple projects.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a complex & fast paced environment, and wants to utilise their payroll & award expertise, system knowledge, and strong analytical skills to produce accurate & quality reporting to both internal & external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:
- Establish and support proactive payroll compliance reporting in line with changing priorities to reduce risk
- Establish and support a suite of periodic, meaningful payroll dashboards and data insights for both internal and external reporting
- Analyse and interpret payroll data to identify trends, risks, and areas for remediation
- Review historical payroll records, and provide recommendations for resolution
- Support payroll compliance activities
- Perform Ad-hoc analysis and provide insights as necessary
- Follow internal audit control procedures and assist in regular assessments and reviews
- Identify technical gaps and support project tasks
- Work collaboratively with the payroll team to identify appropriate opportunities for continuous improvement of payroll services, processes, and procedures (including automation).
- Work collaboratively with internal & external stakeholders to identify appropriate opportunities to further enhance, or develop, business insights

Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in payroll analytics or a similar analytical role
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance requirements, ability to interpret awards, legislation, and other statutory requirements
- Demonstrated experience with payroll and T&A systems (Micropay Meridian & Humanforce preferred)
- Experience in Payroll processing and understanding payroll principles for testing & configurations
- Extensive Excel experience at an advanced level
- An eye for detail and superb analytical & research skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Immediate Start, Full time / On Site
