Insight Early Learning Burwood is seeking a passionate and experienced Centre Director to lead our dedicated team of educators and inspire the next generation of bright minds. Our centre is part of the Burwood Brickworks shopping centre which aims to be one of the most sustainable shopping centres, under the Living Building Challenge criteria. Sustainability and STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) are at the heart of our program. From water recycling and solar energy to our rooftop farm, children learn through real-world connections, hands-on exploration, and play-based learning.
At Insight, we are deeply committed to creating a child-safe and child-friendly environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired. We embed the Victorian Child Safe Standards into every aspect of our practice, from recruitment and training to daily interactions.
Your role will include:
- Ensuring the service consistently upholds the Child Safe Standards and maintains a culture where children's safety and wellbeing are paramount
- Overseeing the day-to-day management and smooth operation of the service
- Leading recruitment, onboarding and mentoring of new team members
- Maintaining strong administrative and compliance practices
- Building positive and effective family and community relationships
- Supporting innovative educational program development and delivery
- Driving continuous improvement through the Quality Improvement Plan
- Creating a positive workplace culture, celebrating achievements, and inspiring excellence
What you will bring:
- Previous leadership/management experience in Early Childhood Education
- Strong operational, compliance, and financial acumen with proven ability to meet targets
- A supportive and inspiring leadership style with a focus on mentoring and team development
- A deep commitment to quality education and care, and to building strong partnerships with families and community
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to go above and beyond
- Experience with Xplor or Humanforce (advantageous but not essential)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved) or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
- Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Certificates
- Current Working with Children Check
- Child Protection Training (current)
- Experience as a Nominated Supervisor and Director
- Strong understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
