People & Talent Partner
Careers don't grow in comfort zones. Ready to build something extraordinary?
Marley Spoon is on a mission to bring better cooking back to the table through fresh, flexible meal kits. Every week we deliver thousands of meals across Australia - and none of it would be possible without the ambitious teams behind the scenes. This role is about making sure those teams have the culture, support and talent they need to thrive.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an ambitious talent leader who is ready to co-own and co-drive the future of our people and brand. As a pivotal part of a small but mighty People & Culture team, you won't be a cog in a machine - you'll be at the center of a national operation, with the autonomy to make a measurable impact from our Alexandria office. This isn't about traditional HR; it's about leading projects across the entire employee journey, from shaping our recruitment strategy to supporting onboarding and development.
We're looking for a
People & Talent Partner
who gets energised by turning metrics into competitive advantage. You'll own the entire employee lifecycle - from crafting attraction strategies that draw top talent to designing development programs that nurture long-term growth, and creating retention initiatives that keep our best people thriving. This role demands someone who doesn't just manage People processes but builds comprehensive employee experiences that drive both individual success and organizational excellence.
You'll thrive here if you're the type who sees data as your compass, treats every hire as a strategic decision, and believes that exceptional culture isn't built by accident - it's engineered by ambitious people who refuse to settle for average.
You'll embody our value of being ambitious by taking on new challenges with a relentless focus on results and accountability. If you're ready to make a significant impact and thrive in a culture that rewards doers, we want to talk.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to have a traditional HR background to succeed in this role. We're looking for someone who believes in a high-trust, high-performance culture over policy-heavy compliance. We want a People & Culture professional who thinks like a business partner - someone who would rather solve problems through smart judgment than create another policy manual. What matters most is your ability to build frameworks that unlock potential rather than limit it. We believe in creating an environment where people deliver results and thrive through autonomy and continuous learning.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is
- An Excellent Communicator: You develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. You listen attentively, provide timely information, and encourage the open expression of diverse ideas.
- Highly Organized & Action-Oriented: You're skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple projects on a national scale. You take on new opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Curious & Eager to Learn: An eagerness to learn and interest in the People and Culture field are essential. Your curiosity drives you to cultivate innovation by creating new and better ways for the organization to be successful.
Experience & Qualifications
We value potential and mindset over perfect credentials. We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree (any field - we love diverse perspectives) who can demonstrate strong organisational skills, project management capabilities, and the ability to thrive in our fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Preferred Background: Experience in manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or high-growth environments is a bonus, but what matters most is your ability to think strategically about people and culture.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent time management, and comfort with autonomous decision-making. You must have high attention to detail, analytical thinking skills, and a genuine curiosity about emerging technologies and tools that can transform how we attract, develop, and retain talent.
- Tech-Forward Mindset: Interest in exploring how AI, automation, and innovative platforms can enhance the employee experience and streamline talent processes.
Attributes:
A confident communicator who can influence without authority. You're a strategic business partner who drives continuous improvement through smart judgment rather than rigid processes. You build trust through results, not hierarchy.
What's In It For You
At Marley Spoon, we believe work should fuel your growth, not drain it. Here's what you can look forward to:
- Delicious perks – Discounted Marley Spoon boxes delivered to your door (plus a test kitchen at HQ where you'll taste tomorrow's recipes first).
- Time to recharge – An extra 6 days of annual leave every year, on top of the standard entitlements.
- Growth on us – 5 paid training days each year, plus the chance to explore projects across different functions.
- No red tape – We value autonomy, accountability, and getting things done without formal hurdles.
- Well-being matters – 24/7 support through Sonder, a generous parental leave scheme (including $7.5k childcare pay), and corporate discounts on health insurance for you and your family.
- Global team, local spirit – Flat hierarchies, great energy, and 50+ nationalities working together.
While we value flexibility, this role requires a consistent presence in the office to be successful, with a minimum expectation of 3 days a week on-site. We'll provide support, mentorship, and training to help you grow into the role.
Why Marley Spoon?
At Marley Spoon, growth is a shared journey.
#WhenYouGrowWeGrow
is more than a mantra, it's how we operate: your development fuels our success.
We don't settle for average and neither should you. Diversity, inclusion and flexibility aren't buzzwords here - they're the edge that makes us stronger. With well-being built into our recipe for success, we create an environment where high performance and support go hand in hand.
Want to see what that looks like? Take a look inside our culture.
