Campbelltown East Public School is situated in Campbelltown, South West Sydney, and currently has an enrolment of 386 students. Among our students, 85 identify as Aboriginal, making up 22% of the total enrolment, while 122 students come from an English as an Additional Language or Dialect background, representing 32%.

The Teacher Special Education Hearing Impairment (Itinerant) position is based at Campbelltown East Public School. It involves travelling to support students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in a range of school settings, including those prior to school age, preschool, primary school, high school, schools for specific purposes (SSP), and support classes. The suitable applicant requires their own vehicle, a current driver's licence, and a willingness to travel between work sites.
Selection CriteriaApproval to teach Special Education - Hearing Impairment and a commitment to ongoing professional learning in the field of Deaf Education.
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate quality, inclusive learning plans to meet the complex needs of students who are Deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) from age of diagnosis to Year 12 across educational settings.
Demonstrated capacity and willingness to engage in professional learning, including hearing technology, Key Word Sign, Auslan and augmentative communication systems to support communication and equal access to the curriculum.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with a proven capacity to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and external agencies to meet the needs of students with hearing loss.
ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
