About the Position

Working within our Parks and Environment Team, the primary responsibility of this position is to maintain, protect and enhance the City's unique and recognisable character in its parks, streetscapes and recreational areas by providing efficient, high quality streetscapes maintenance services.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

• Certificate III in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens or Turf) or minimum 5 years relevant industry experience
• Working knowledge of plants, garden design, tree pruning and maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to apply horticultural skills using various materials and/or specialised techniques
• Demonstrated written literacy and numeracy skills to provide information and advice to other employees, suppliers, and members of the public
• Basic computer skills and the ability to utilise a mobile phone or tablet independently
• Sound working knowledge of traffic management for street maintenance.
• Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current National Police Clearance.

Desirable:

• Current Traffic Management Certificate
• Knowledge of Local Government operations and general procedures as applicable to work area
• Current 'MR' class Drivers Licence
