InSights Systems Pty Ltd are now seeking a motivated, technically skilled Sound Technician/AV Events Technician to join their growing team. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality technical services for events, supporting our mission of providing exceptional client experiences.

Location: Vermont, VIC

Role: Full time

Position: Multiple

Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 (depending upon experience)

About the role:

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:


• Set up, operate, adjust and dismantle audio equipment for live events, conferences, and meetings in accordance with technical requirements.


• Operate and adjust equipment to record and play, adjust volume and sound quality


• Manage and maintain AV equipment, ensuring optimal performance, calibration, and timely fault resolution.


• Provide technical support for live sound mixing, sound amplifying, and routing audio signals during events.


• Conduct regular testing, diagnostic and troubleshooting of sound systems to ensure operational readiness and minimal downtime.


• Configure and operate audio systems, digital mixing consoles, microphones, speakers, amplifiers ensuring high quality output.


• Support satellite and remote event setups using industry-standard platforms and equipment.


• Monitor, manage, and report equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and service tickets.


• Assist with equipment logistics, stock control, and asset management for AV equipment.


• Maintain clear and accurate reports related to events, technical setups and equipment, including closing service tickets and updating asset registers.


• Liaise directly with event coordinators, internal stakeholders, and clients to understand event needs and ensure technical requirements are met.


• Follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards during event setup and operation.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

· Relevant tertiary qualification in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, or Event Management

· At least 2 years of experience working in the related technical audio-visual events role.

· Practical experience in live sound engineering, audio-visual equipment setup, troubleshooting, and operation.

· Strong technical skills in event AV setups including sound mixing, vision management, and equipment troubleshooting.

Technical Competencies and skills Required

· Familiarity with professional audio equipment such as Avid Pro Tools, Logic Pro, SSL Duality Console 48, Allen & Heath ZED-24

· Understanding of IT and AV system integration for hybrid events.

· Acoustic knowledge

· Knowledge of equipment operation, sound mixing, troubleshooting

· Basic understanding of ITIL methodology and event reporting practices.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality event support.

· Organisational and interpersonal skills

· Strong verbal communication skills.
