About the role

We're seeking a Senior Analyst Programmer to join our Retirement Solutions business, Syncsoft Core Technology team — a role that plays a key part in designing, implementing, and supporting changes across our critical systems. You'll work at the heart of solution delivery, collaborating closely with business and technology teams to translate ideas into efficient, high-quality software that makes a real impact.

Type: Full-time, Permanent

In this role you will be accountable to:

  • Design, develop, and deliver quality software components on time and to specification.
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into clear technical solutions.
  • Build robust applications across all layers of the system architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to other developers.
  • Conduct peer reviews for code and unit testing to maintain high standards.
  • Contribute to and uphold development standards, methodologies, and best practices.
    Prepare clear and accurate documentation including release notes and technical specifications.

What you will bring to be successful in the role:

  • 10+ years of programming experience in application development.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and database (SQL) skills.
  • Exposure to mainstream programming languages such as Visual Basic, VBA, or VBScript.
  • Willingness to learn CTL (Capital Translator Language) – our in-house business-oriented development language (training provided).
  • Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience within superannuation or financial services systems (highly regarded).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
