About The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional
Site-Based HR Leader
to join this leading resources organisation as part of their leadership team. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned HR professional who thrives in operational environments and understands the unique dynamics of remote site-based work.
As HR Leader, you will be the strategic people partner to the operational leadership team, driving workforce excellence and embedding robust people practices that support the operational imperatives. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on site performance through effective people management in a complex, high-performing mining environment.
Responsibilities
Reporting through a matrix structure and working in close partnership with operational leaders, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of people management activities including:
- Strategic HR Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership, providing HR counsel that aligns people initiatives with operational objectives
- Workforce Planning & Effectiveness: Drive workforce planning, optimisation, and productivity initiatives to ensure they have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time
- Diversity & Inclusion - Champion D&I initiatives and programs of work to ensure a cohesive and inclusive workplace.
- Employee Relations: Manage complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant approaches that maintain positive workplace culture
- Performance Management: Embed and champion performance management frameworks that drive accountability and high performance across all levels
- Talent Management: Lead recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention strategies for both operational and leadership roles
- Health, Safety & Wellbeing: Partner with HSE teams to integrate people initiatives that support zero harm outcomes and employee wellbeing
- Culture & Engagement: Drive initiatives that strengthen site culture, boost engagement, and support values and behavioral standards
About You
You Are a Commercially Astute HR Professional With Deep Operational Understanding And The Ability To Translate People Strategies Into Measurable Business Outcomes. You Bring
- Progressive HR experience, with substantial site-based or operational experience in mining, resources, or heavy industry
- Proven experience as a senior HR business partner or HR leader supporting complex operational environments
- Demonstrated experience managing the full employee lifecycle in remote/FIFO operations
- Track record of successfully partnering with operational leaders to deliver people outcomes that support business objectives
- Leads from the front and actively participates in site operations
- Collaborative working with COE's across the broader organisation.
