2026 Surgical Plastic Registrar - Unaccredited

Division of Surgery

Fixed Ferm - Full time | 2026 Clinical Year

About the Role

We have vacancies for unaccredited registrars to work on a fixed term contract in 2026 to assist in the delivery of care to surgical patients and to further develop or consolidate expertise appropriate to the stage of training.

This position provides appropriate exposure and experience to enable trainees to attain the required skills, techniques, knowledge and procedural exposure, as required by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons for General Surgical training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day inpatient management of patients of the Plastics Surgical Unit
  • Attendance at ward rounds for surgical patients and participation in management plan development
  • Receiving and giving of clinical handovers as appropriate
  • Appropriately liaise with all staff involved in the care of the patient, including communication and

    referrals necessary for ongoing care post-discharge.
  • Supervision and teaching of junior staff.
  • Attendance at Operating Theatre sessions as allocated.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience and skills, appropriate to stage of training in the assessment and clinical management of surgical patients.
  • Understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to operate in an environment of change.
