We are currently recruiting a Commercial Lawyer for a Sydney-based law firm. Our firm has built a solid reputation in the construction contracts sector and provides a wide variety of legal services to commercial clients.

In this role you will become part of our team and will manage your own corporate clients portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our barristers and provide support .
  • Gather evidence and testimony from a range of witnesses for use in hearings of different level of courts.
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with clients.
  • Negotiate effectively on behalf of clients and oversee mediation proceedings

You will need:

  • A law degree and at least 3 years' experience in the legal profession
  • Sound knowledge of contracts, defects, etc with experience in the sector
  • Experience in mediation and negotiation with a confident and measured approach to conflict resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills including strong presentation skills
  • Effective use of computer systems for the generation of professional reports, scheduling and client database management
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and capacity to be detail-oriented
  • High level of integrity and professional accountability
