About the role

Student Advisor Assistance play a pivotal role in supporting our students at Victoria University. As the first point of contact for current and future student enquiries, you will be supporting our students to navigate university systems and processes, their personal and academic goals, and setting them up to get the most out of their student experience.

In this role you will work closely with our Advisory teams, Student Administration and college staff to support domestic, international, TAFE and higher education students. Our Service centres are across multiple campuses.

About the person

The preferred candidate will have a customer service mindset and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of our students, has experience in customer service roles and record management systems (preferably in student services) has the ability to collaborate and work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver exemplary student support, keeps a level head in busy and sometimes stressful situations, proactively identifies and resolves issues where possible and appropriately escalates where necessary can equally work autonomously and collaboratively as needed. Availability during our peak periods (October to April) is essential.

Duties

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Provide accurate, timely and documented advice to potential and current students on a range of general matters including course information, administration, admissions, enrolment fees and on using student systems
  • Resolve first level student enquiries efficiently and effectively and escalate where appropriate to Student Advisors
    Provide student service to the performance and quality standards of Student Services Customer Service Framework and the Student Advising Model
