About the opportunity

The Community Plus Team is a component of Mercy Mental Health located at Saltwater clinic and provides recovery orientated treatment, and rehabilitation services to people with a serious psychiatric illness and complex psychosocial support needs. The role is to provide discipline specific client recovery focused care based on evidence based practice as well as a commitment to the delivery of services that are responsive to the needs of the community. As an experienced Clinician you are expected to work within a multidisciplinary team and support and participate in the operation of the program.

  • Utilise your expert clinical skills by undertaking a clinical caseload,
  • In doing so the role ensures standards are met, evidence based practice is implemented and that the service is responsive to the needs of the community.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team and support and participate in the operation of the program
  • Support Community Plus clinical staff and the Community Plus Manager to provide quality mental health and discipline specific, client centred assessment and treatment in the context of a holistic framework and in a multi-disciplinary team setting.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as one of the following: a Registered Nurse with a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health or equivalence, Occupational Therapist, or Social Work with the eligibility of membership for the Association of Australian Social Workers, or a Psychologist with an approved degree in Psychology.
  • Case management experience desirable
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in health and risk assessments
  • Ability to prioritise workload and coordinate clinical care with other service providers.
  • Ability to provide quality mental health and discipline specific, client centred assessment and treatment in the context of a holistic framework and in a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Ability to facilitate the appropriate clinical care coordination of people with a mental illness within the team
  • Ability to work co-operatively and effectively with other internal and external programs/organisations
  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrates strong professional values, proven ability to work within the scope of clinical practice and ability to adhere to professional code of conduct.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
