The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

About the opportunity:
The Examinations Coordinator, Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) is responsible for the coordination of the formal assessments of the pain medicine training program, including:
- Coordinating the Fellowship examination and Foundations MCQ Examination.
- Coordinating long case assessments.
- Managing stakeholders effectively and providing timely and accurate communications.
- Maintaining accurate exam data in an exams management system and training ePortfolio.
- Coordinating the assessment of clinical case studies.
- Administering and supporting the FPM Examination Committee and its working groups.
In 2026, a new examination process is being introduced requiring a robust communications plan and change management.
The Examinations Coordinator reports to the FPM Operations Manager. This role is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract.
It is a requirement of this role to attend examinations and committee meetings which take place after hours and on weekends. In addition, there is a need for flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods or in order to achieve deadlines when necessary. There will be some interstate travel on occasion. There is a Time In Lieu (TIL) policy that applies for any additional hours.

Essential
• Sound experience in a senior administrative position gained in a professional environment that has involved:
o Strong experience coordinating professional high-stakes examinations.
o Experience in stakeholder and process management.
o Experience with online exam build and delivery
• Well-developed organisational, logistics management with the ability to manage complex processes and systems and personal time management skills, the ability to effectively prioritise and handle conflicting priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow through.
• Sound written communication skills with the ability to accurately prepare correspondence, exam collateral, agendas and minutes.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, the ability to develop and maintain collaborative and constructive work relationships.
• Sound judgement, initiative, negotiating and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify when matters need to be attended to and take the appropriate action.
• The ability to observe high levels of confidentiality and discretion when dealing with exam arrangements and results.
• Sound analytical skills, the ability to review and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent customer service focus, a desire to deliver a high level of service to Fellows and trainees.
• Experience working in regulatory environments with the ability to interpret policy and regulations.
• PC Skills:
o Advanced – Microsoft Office.
o Aptitude to learn and become proficient using the exams system and training ePortfolio.
o Aptitude to learn and become proficient using the in-house database system iMIS.
Desired
• Relevant experience working in an education and or training environment.
• Experience or exposure in a professional education and or committee environment.
• A degree qualification in education and or training.
