  • Work closely with the wider DEI team to ensure global programmes and initiatives are reflective of the needs of our people in our Asia Pacific (APAC) and Middle East & Africa (MEA) offices and ensure regional participation.
  • Identify and execute regional priorities outside the scope of the Global DEI strategy and, when required, design initiatives to accelerate progress against regional goals and metrics.
  • Maintain oversight of all diversity, equity and inclusion activity across APAC and MEA, tracking status and performance against agreed metrics.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across APAC and MEA, including the Regional Management Boards, Regional DEI Steering Committees and broader HR team.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Regional DEI Steering Committees in APAC and MEA ensuring their strategic objectives are aligned to the Global DEI strategy.

  • Localise and implement the global DEI strategy across APAC and MEA, aligning with regional legal, cultural, and business practices.
  • Advise leadership teams on inclusive practices in areas such as recruitment, promotions, client engagement, and workplace culture.
  • Conduct reviews of regional progress toward global gender and ethnicity parity goals, and develop strategic, data-driven interventions to close gaps and drive accelerated progress.

Education, Awareness & Communications

  • Design and deliver tailored DEI training and awareness programs that reflect local context and legislation.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to share internal and external DEI content, drive visibility, and celebrate successes.
  • Create and promote engaging content via internal platforms, media, and social media channels.

Programme & Project Management

  • Manage regional DEI and Wellbeing programmes, ensuring integration with global Responsible Business initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Environment & Sustainability and Pro Bono & Social Impact teams to deliver a unified approach.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with external partners and clients to enhance programme reach and impact.

Talent Development & Representation

  • Champion the recruitment, retention, and advancement of underrepresented talent across the region.
  • Promote inclusive hiring practices and equitable access to development opportunities.
  • Support employee networks and mentoring programs aligned to DEI goals.

Data, Measurement & Compliance

  • Collect, analyse, and report DEI metrics in line with local legal frameworks.
  • Track progress against goals, identify gaps, and drive accountability.
  • Manage compliance submissions such as the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) and similar regional reporting requirements.

Culture & Engagement

  • Foster a psychologically safe, inclusive environment where all employees feel valued.
  • Celebrate cultural diversity through events and communications.
  • Encourage engagement with DEI initiatives at all levels of the business.

Client & Community Collaboration

  • Partner with clients on shared DEI initiatives and promote thought leadership in the APAC and MEA legal markets.
  • Represent the firm at external forums and industry events.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience developing and implementing DEI strategies, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Deep understanding of DEI, corporate responsibility, and wellbeing best practices across the APAC and MEA regions.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience in influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working from strategic planning through to hands-on delivery.
