Our next project in Western Australia, is an underground gold mining operation with an initial 8-year mine life.

About the Role:

The Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer is responsible for maximising the productivity of the charging operations. The Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer checks, maintains and operates charging equipment and explosive magazines in accordance with standards, standard work practices and operational manuals to deliver high standards and productivity.

About You:

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and experience:


• Previous experience in development (essential) and production (desirable) charging with ANFO.


• Current or ability to renew WA Shotfirer License (desirable)


• Magazine management experience, including completing stocktakes and maintaining stock levels and magazine books


• Ensuring charging activities are carried out according to the appropriate mining plan, blast designs, and statutory explosives management requirements


• Experience ensuring equipment is in a safe and clean working order and reporting any defects


• Sound experience storing and transporting explosives in accordance with state and federal regulations


• Sound experience communicating shift performance to the Shift Supervisor and other Charge Up Operators / Shotfirers


• Proven experience working collaboratively to optimise productivity, compliance to work schedules, and quality work


• Skilled in liaising with Maintenance to report mechanical issues


• inability to train other team members in all aspects of the Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer role


• Uphold high safety standards and a commitment to our Zero Harm culture

You will hold the following qualifications and licences:


• Current Australian C-Class Driver's License


• Valid WA Security Clearance


• Current Working at Heights Certificate


• Nationally recognised Shotfirer's License (Desirable)
