Terra Mining are a dynamic leader in Western Australia's mining sector, which rapidly expanding its portfolio of projects across the region.

2025 has been a big year for Terra Mining as we embark further at Extension Hill continues to ramp up their operations in the Mid-West region of Western Australia.

The remarkable achievements from this project have now sparked an increase in our drill and blast demands as we are seeking an experienced Shotfirer to join the team and safely execute the blasting on site in accordance with procedural and site requirements.

Working a 2&2 OR 8&6 dayshift roster, the Shotfirers day to day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring all blasting practices are in line with industry regulations and project requirements.
  • Maintaining explosive magazines and compounds and ensuring enough stock is on hand.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify and resolve any technical issues that may arise during blasting activities.
  • Leading & training of the Blast Crew
  • Following Drill & Blast plans & schedules
  • Quality control of the Drill & Blast patterns & process.

What we are seeking

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Shotfirer on open pit, hard rock mining projects.
  • A current WA Shotfirers Licence and WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
  • Experience using Shotplus is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with non-electric detonators is preferred.
  • Shotfirers with a positive attitude to safety and teamwork.
  • Strong leadership & time management skills.
  • Hold a valid Australian drivers licence
  • Be available to start ASAP.

You must have full Australian working rights, be able to complete and pass a medical assessment (including drug & alcohol screen) and be able to provide a current National Police Clearance (within last 12 months).
