The Opportunity
We're looking for a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to deepen their accounting experience and play a key part in supporting the financial operations of a growing business.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll work closely with internal teams to ensure the integrity of financial data and contribute to ongoing process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Prepare weekly receivables and payables reports

  • Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Manage the weekly payroll process, including STP submissions and superannuation reconciliations

  • Collaborate with the Sales team on collections and customer account updates

  • Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required

About You

  • Certificate IV or higher in Accounting/Bookkeeping (or working towards a qualification such as CPA/CA is a plus)

  • At least 4 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or above)

  • Experience with Xero is a must

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams

  • Highly organised and able to manage priorities and deadlines independently
