Powerlink Queensland is a leading Australian provider of high voltage electricity transmission network services, combining innovation with insight to deliver safe, cost-effective and reliable solutions.
As owner and operator of Queensland's high voltage electricity transmission network, Powerlink connects energy from where it is generated to where it is needed, powering millions of homes and businesses. Powerlink is committed to supporting Queensland's economy; delivering benefits to customers, communities and industry.
The Queensland Government has set clear objectives for the energy sector: to deliver an affordable, reliable and sustainable energy supply, while ensuring the electricity network is safe, resilient and future-ready. Powerlink is central to achieving these goals.
The Board is now seeking an outstanding Chief Executive to lead the organisation into its next chapter. This is a rare opportunity to guide a major infrastructure business at the centre of Queensland's energy system, ensuring the ongoing reliability and safety of essential transmission services.
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive will shape and execute Powerlink's strategic direction in alignment with government policy, regulatory frameworks and community expectations. You will lead a high-performing organisation responsible for operating and maintaining Queensland's transmission network, delivering major infrastructure projects, and enabling generation, storage and industrial load to connect to the grid.
Success in this role will require a leader with exceptional strategic and operational capability, commercial and policy acumen, and a strong track record in complex, regulated environments.
You will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across government, industry, regulators and communities, balancing immediate operational priorities with long-term system planning.
As Chief Executive, you will:
- champion a culture of safety, reliability and operational excellence
- lead the organisation's contribution to Queensland's energy system through safeguarding the security of supply
- build trusted relationships with government, industry and stakeholders to deliver on shared priorities
- shape investment and network strategies that respond to evolving customer, community and market needs
- inspire a high-performing workforce capable of delivering on Powerlink's critical mandate.
This is a career-defining leadership opportunity for a visionary executive who is motivated by purpose and committed to delivering enduring public value.
