The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) is a statutory body dedicated to making renting work for everyone in Queensland. At a time of change, complexity and heightened expectations across the rental sector, they are seeking an exceptional leader to join the Executive Leadership Team as Chief Assurance Officer.
This pivotal role leads the RTA's corporate services portfolio, spanning governance, risk, compliance, finance, assurance, regulatory and legal services. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Assurance Officer provides trusted advice to the Board and Executive Leadership Team, enabling organisation-wide decision-making and sustainable value creation. They will champion performance and accountability by embedding a strong risk and assurance culture, strengthening governance practices and financial stewardship, and ensuring sustainable business performance through contemporary regulatory approaches.
As a key driver of organisational culture, the Chief Assurance Officer will play a central role in shaping a high-performance environment, one that inspires teams, fosters collaboration and builds capability across the RTA. Success will require a leader who can balance governance excellence with strategic foresight, demonstrate a proven ability to engage and empower teams, and lead cultural change with resilience and influence. Extensive experience with engaging diverse stakeholders on sensitive and complex matters, together with a strong record of guiding reform, building trust and delivering results in dynamic environments will be essential.
The RTA offers the opportunity to influence the future of Queensland's rental market while working within a values-driven organisation committed to inclusion, diversity, innovation and service excellence. This is a unique opportunity for a senior leader to drive organisational performance, shape culture and deliver enduring value for the community.
