About the role
Alphington Grammar School is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Art and Creative Industries to lead and inspire our art and creative education programs. This is a full-time, ongoing position based in our Alphington, Victoria campus.
What you l be doing
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Art and Creative Industries curriculum and program, ensuring it aligns with the school's vision and objectives.
Manage and oversee the delivery of high-quality, engaging art and creative education to our secondary school students.
Lead, develop and mentor a team of art and creative industries teachers.
Foster a creative and collaborative learning environment that encourages student innovation and exploration.
Coordinate art exhibitions, performances and other creative showcases to celebrate student achievements.
Manage budgets, resources and facilities for the Art and Creative Industries department.
Liaise with parents, the school community and external organisations to promote the school
9s art and creative programs.
What we re looking for
Tertiary qualifications in Fine Arts, Visual Arts or a related creative discipline, with proven experience teaching at the secondary school level.
Demonstrated success in leading, managing and developing a high-performing art and creative industries program and team.
Excellent knowledge of the Victorian curriculum and experience in curriculum development and implementation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students, staff and the wider school community.
Proven track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in art and creative education.
Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues and a commitment to professional development.
