**How will I help?**

The Westpac Institutional Bank’s Financial Markets business are searching for an Associate Director within our high-performing Corporate Solutions desk in Sydney/Melbourne.

As an Associate Director, you will advise and execute Interest Rate derivatives and Foreign Exchange derivatives to a portfolio of top tier Corporate and Institutional Banking clients, to assist them in managing these risks in their underlying business. You will offer a exceptional service via customer knowledge and thought leadership in an effort to achieve Trusted Advisor status.

You will also:

- Be an expert in or be able to quickly develop expertise in relevant products and key markets so that you can provide tailored hedging solutions.
- Execute various derivative transactions both vanilla and structured.
- Develop a deep understanding of a client’s business and the environment they operate in to understand the implications on key risk metrics in order to originate opportunities.
- Influence key stakeholders in Markets, Relationship Banking, Credit, and Legal in order to originate financial market opportunities from existing customers and also support the relationship bankers in the origination of new to bank customers.
- Proactively manage customer relationships within both your portfolio and the broader Australia client portfolio.
- Understand implications of XVA pricing across products and how to structure derivatives to manage XVAs.
- Work with the Corporate FX and Digital Distribution teams to provide a seamless provision of service across all FM products and distribution methods.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and support a strong risk culture.
- Work closely with Debt Capital and Bond Syndicate team to originate derivative transactions to support corporate clients access offshore markets.
- Work on new and restructure of existing derivatives to provide an enhanced client outcome.

**What do I need?**

To be considered, you will have a customer centric approach and will preferably have experience advising or executing derivative products for corporate clients. Direct financial markets experience is not a prerequisite however it is expected you have at a minimum experience in consulting or advising corporate clients.

Some further advantageous skills:

- Exceptional understanding of relevant products and deal systems, to enable appropriate education of staff, customers, and bankers.
- Relevant education and professional accreditation, including AFMA.
- Demonstrated relationship building & influencing skills.
- Demonstrate inherent qualities of curiosity and ability to challenge the status quo to deepen customer relationships and simplify existing processes.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to understand market concepts efficiently.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft office products (excel, word, powerpoint)
