**About Us**:
The People and Culture Portfolio provides integrated human resources advice and support across all areas of Victoria University (VU). Working closely with our clients, we deliver strategically aligned workforce solutions in areas including change management, diversity and inclusion, organisational development, health and safety, industrial and employee relations, remuneration and benefits, and recruitment. We also plan, design, communicate and monitor VU’s Workforce Strategy with a focus on building organisation and change management capability, and providing workforce data to support strategic decision making to enable the University to deliver on its _Strategic Plan, 2022-2028 _: Start well, finish brilliantly _.

**About the Role**:
VU is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to contribute towards enhancing technical expertise, operational efficiency and overall performance in payroll, superannuation and salary packaging areas ensuring full compliance with legislative and industrial standards.

Some of the duties you may perform in this role are:

- Provide expert technical guidance, coaching, and advice to the broader payroll team, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant delivery of salary packaging, superannuation, and payroll services
- Manage the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly pay runs, superannuation, payroll reconciliations, and adjustments for all University employees
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure seamless adaptation to changes in legislation, maintaining compliance within the payroll function
- Manage and/or collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the maintenance and upgrade of the current payroll system

**This is a full time continuing role offered at HEP 9 classification with salary range starting from $126,547.65 per annum plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week.**

**About You**:

- Proven experience in managing payroll processes, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
- In-depth understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act, taxation laws, superannuation requirements, etc.
- Proven experience in managing system implementations, process improvements, and legislative updates
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and mentoring a high-performance team
