**THE ROLE**

The Manager will lead a small team responsible for development of policy positions and providing high level policy advice for Ministers and senior executives regarding a wide range of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and other disability service-related matters, including the interface with mainstream service systems, the Disability Services Act, NDIS legislation and rules, and policy and system improvements.

The team will also support bilateral NDIS governance processes including providing secretariat support to the Victorian Executive Steering Committee (ESC) and Victorian NDIS Community Advisory Council (VCAC). The role includes working with a range of stakeholders, including other Victorian government departments, the Commonwealth Government and other jurisdictions, to support Victoria's responsibilities for joint governance of the NDIS.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Provide high quality strategic policy advice and briefings to the Departmental Executive, Government and other key stakeholders, both within, and external to, government, on matters related to the disability portfolio.
- Forge strong connections across the department and with external stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Maintain a close understanding of Commonwealth and state legislation and rules relevant to the NDIS and disability policy.
