Raytheon Australia is proud to be the trusted capability partner of the Australian Defence Force, working in an integrated customer environment to deliver through life sustainment of the Navy’s Hydrographic and Offshore Patrol Vessel capabilities.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the day-to-day engineering team including oversight of problem reports, engineering change, interface with external agencies and execution of our Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM).

We look for specialists with a talent for big picture thinking and attention to detail, alongside strong management capabilities to develop and deliver strong outcomes for our nation and defence.

**The Role**

The Engineering Services Manager is required to manage all duties of engineering management, process control, coordination, configuration control, and standardisation required within the Recurring Services area MV CLCM. The role is also responsible for the delivery of activities within cost and schedule constraints whilst ensuring adhering to established processes and/or contractual obligations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage engineering change activities including approvals or manage request for variance/deviation approvals as appropriate.
- Manage engineering team disciplines to support the outcomes required of contract, including Problem Reports and Engineering Change Activities on Asset Classes being supported
- Establishing, managing and reporting engineering metrics and key performance indicators.
- Maintaining engineering plans and procedures to meet the requirements of the contract.
- Define the processes and tools that will be used to support the development/design baseline.
- Engage with contractors/suppliers where required to manage activities associated with the scope of the program (including identifying approved designers within the Technical Support Network (TSN)).
- Managing the engineering framework, incorporating the technical organisational structure, assessing and developing technical risk in the Navy’s environment, development of engineering technical staff and supporting customer’s engineering delegation framework.
- Embrace Continuous Improvement Principles, actively support initiatives, and engage in the company’s business process and customer improvement plans.
- Support development of engineering estimates, basis of estimates, work breakdown structures and schedules as providing input to estimates at completion, project management reviews, engineering commitment letters, or other engineering planning activities.
- Establishing, managing, and reporting engineering metrics and key performance indicators.

**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).
- University degree in engineering.
- Tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
- Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams in the Function /Product Line.
- Experience in the development, delivery, and integration of complex military electronic systems.
- Desired Project Management Experience
- Previous experience with Systems Engineering and Configuration Management Tools (e.g DOORS, Windchill, TeamCenter, Drawing Design tools)
