**The Opportunity**:
Join our team of intelligent and collaborative Changemakers and make your mark on tomorrow In this role, you’ll work with our Strategic Bids and Business Development team, based in Melbourne, as an experienced Bid Manager.
The Bid Manager position is an integral part of the development of pursuits and winning proposals. You will be part of a national team of bid professionals and work closely with business leaders and technical staff to ensure consistency in the implementation of our business development process, particularly the pursuit and tendering of opportunities.
The Strategic Bids and Business Development team help our colleagues and each other create client-focused tenders that consistently win work. We are a tight-knit, supportive team who brings best-practice approaches to create high-quality, client-centric compelling submissions.
You will be responsible for leading the bid process, incorporating lessons learnt from previous bids as part of the strategy development in conjunction with the pursuit leaders, bringing local and national knowledge to the business. You will work with our in-house design studio to bring the wow factor to our bid submissions to help WSP stand out from the crowd.
**What you’ll do**:
- Manage the pursuit development and proposal submission processes, ensuring they align with the WSP BD process
- Work across multiple disciplines, providing strategic advice into qualifying decisions to pursue/bid appropriate opportunities
- Facilitate strategy development, write non-technical sections, and manage technical, financial, and inputs by engaging with key contributors across the business
- Workshop/storyboard content with tendering teams to guide the development of content that is client-focused, compelling, comprehensible, and compliant with the client’s requirements
- Advise and coach teams for presentations and interviews with clients
- Coach/mentor/educate staff in bidding practices and company BD processes
**What we will love about you**:
- Degree qualified in business, marketing, communications or journalism or equivalent experience
- You will ideally have a minimum of 7+ years' experience in winning work, sales, journalism, or marketing
- Experience in professional services is preferable
- You will need to demonstrate strong experience in pursuits and proposals
- You will also have excellent writing and editing skills, with an ability to influence and engage others
- Membership of the Association for Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) would be valued
- You will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure while maintaining control, be well-organised, efficient and have high attention to detail
- Your ability to influence, engage and build trust with others will be key to succeeding in this role as well as your ability to successfully manage your time and workload
