**About the Role**

We are seeking a full time Lead Barista to join our team in our Sydney locations Take back your work/life balance with **every weekend off **and the opportunity to grow your career into new areas within the business.

The Lead Barista will work closely with the Head Barista to ensure excellent customer service and assist the preparation of coffee and other café food/beverages. The Lead Barista will have a wide range of responsibilities to maintain the quality of our space and offerings. You will play an integral part in maintaining our fantastic customer service standards while providing high-level barista service to customers.

Our Canteens (Cafes) are located within our amazing co-working locations, providing our members and guests access to great coffee within our fantastic space. The Commons is an ecosystem of entrepreneurs, businesses & curious minds - working, connecting and growing under a common roof. Driven by the sincere desire to see people flourish. **About you**

You will bring prior café/restaurant experience, preferably serving a multitude of functions as a barista or wait staff. Some skills we are looking for include:
+ Similar barista/wait experience in a restaurant or café (highly desired)

+ Knowledge of coffee and ability to make various types of beverages

+ Excellent communication and customer service skills

+ Ability to respond to various orders and queries from customers

+ Motivated and looking to broaden experience in the food industry

+ OPTIONAL: Experience working with La Marzocco coffee machines

**Key Responsibilities**

**CUSTOMER SERVICE/HOSPITALITY**

+ Provide excellent customer service to new and existing members of the space

+ Handle customer enquiries and provide general wait assistance

+ Maintain the high customer service standards of The Commons

**CAFÉ**

+ Provide general barista support to the Head Barista, including:

- Taking and preparing orders
- Monitoring stock/products
- Adjusting grinder
- Upkeeping hygiene standards

+ Maintain cleanliness of the space including preparation of tables, cleaning café equipment, handling rubbish accordingly and other tasks as required

+ Ensure all machines and utensils are in pristine condition and reporting any faults to the Head Barista

+ Maintain a safe working environment for all staff and customers

+ Support our Team of cafe assistants with training & knowledge

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Sydney, NSW 2000: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Barista: 1 year (required)
- Customer service: 1 year (required)
- Food handling: 1 year (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
