**About the Role**:
The Social Impact and Grants Manager will work in the Office of the Chief of Staff and play a crucial role in securing grant funding for AM projects across the organisation particularly for Education, Climate and First Nations projects and other social impact projects.
This new role will have a focus on measuring, evaluating and communicating the impact of AM projects increasing self-generated revenue and producing social impact reports for a range of stakeholders. This role will work closely with the Strategic Insights Manager and Relationship Managers to support philanthropic decision-making and grow grant funding across First Nations, Climate Education, and Programming.

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $110,266 - $122,058, plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 11.5%) and annual leave loading.
**About you**:
We are seeking an experienced, purpose-driven professional with a strong track record in social impact strategy and reporting, grant acquisition, and stakeholder engagement, with a particular focus on not-for-profit fundraising. You are a collaborative, adaptable, and capable of working across various stakeholders with ease.
You are inspired by the Australian Museum’s mission to be a leading voice for the richness of life, the Earth and culture in Australia and the Pacific and have a keen interest in assisting the Museum achieve its ambitious philanthropic and organisational ambitions heading into its 200th anniversary in 2027.
You bring expertise in navigating the philanthropic and not-for-profit landscape, particularly within the cultural, educational, and scientific sectors. Strategic and impact-oriented, you excel at identifying and securing grant funding, building meaningful partnerships, and developing initiatives that deliver measurable social outcomes. You are adept at articulating value through compelling storytelling and data-driven reporting, ensuring alignment with funder priorities and community needs.
**Key knowledge and experience**:
- Experience in a similar role with an ambition to drive philanthropic success through impact reporting, employing industry best-practice and strategic use of data and analytics.
- Keen understanding of the Australian philanthropic market, giving trends and emerging markets.
- Experience in initiating and preparing detailed impact reports and giving trend analyses to support philanthropic strategy and growth.
- Experienced problem-solver with a growth mindset, focused on offering data-driven insights and support to enhance the outputs of the development team.
- Experience in social impact and philanthropy is desirable.
**Essential requirements**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the arts, science, business, marketing or communications or equivalent work experience.
