EDQ is responsible for delivering the purpose of the Economic Development Act 2012 (the Act), principally the facilitation of economic development, diverse housing and development for community purposes. It is dedicated to driving economic growth, sustainable development, and community prosperity across Queensland, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our state.
As Manager Corporate Governance, this is your opportunity to play a key role in supporting the effective operation of EDQ, ensuring adherence to the highest level of good governance and the effective operation of the organisation, through the adoption of policy and procedures. You will provide sound advice and implement good governance practices, including clear accountabilities and decision-making frameworks.
More specifically, your abilities will include (but are not limited to):

- collaborating with the executive leadership team and key organisational stakeholders to set the strategy and direction to achieve compliance, governance and policy obligations across EDQ to achieve performance standards.
- developing, implementing and managing EDQ's governance framework, policies, systems and processes to maintain compliance with relevant laws, governance requirements and standards, including monitoring and reporting on risk and compliance matters. Governance includes updates to and implementation of the EDQ delegations and sub-delegations.
- managing the risk and compliance management frameworks to ensure EDQ's operational, legislative and legal requirements are met.
- managing the coordination of matters relating to ethics, integrity and external complaints that may involve coordinating reviews and preparing responses to information requests.
- evolving the maturity of risk and compliance strategies, frameworks and reporting, including by leading initiatives to change processes and enhance functionality.
- providing input to the development of the three-year strategic internal audit plan and annual audit plans, coordinate delivery of the annual Internal Audit Plan with the Internal Audit service provider.
- facilitating the convening of EDQ's Business Continuity Plan, ensuring plans are kept up to date and aligned to any situation at it arises across EDQ's operations to ensure that it is prepared.
- preparing briefing notes and papers relating to risk and compliance management matters to the Executive Leadership Team, the Economic Development Board, the Board Committees and as required, the Minister.
