As one of Australia's largest and most diverse not-for-profit organisations, we've been delivering care and compassion for over 140 years. Guided by faith and mission, our churches and community services work together to provide holistic support across family services, community housing, retirement living, home care and residential aged care. With more than 200 services in 100 Queensland communities, we make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable people, offering support at every stage of life.
In this role, you'll be at the heart of Council and Board operations, driving smooth and efficient meetings, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the organisation's governance integrity. From preparing agendas, accurate minutes and ensuring timely completion of action items to managing statutory filings and Board registers, you'll provide trusted guidance across corporate governance, ASIC and ACNC obligations, and the Corporations Act. You'll also deliver legal and administrative support, maintain the Board's Diligent platform, and build strong relationships with senior executives and stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and accountability at every level.
We're seeking a governance professional with a strong foundation in corporate law, compliance, and risk management, backed by relevant qualifications ideally (AICD, GIA or legal degree) and proven experience in similar roles. You will be currently employed in a governance department under the guidance of a company secretary or executive governance manager or working as a paralegal in a commercially focussed environment. Combining technical expertise with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and you will have the ability to navigate complex governance challenges. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and governance platforms, together with exceptional communication, integrity, and strategic thinking will be key to your success. This is a role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, demonstrates sound judgement, and brings a proactive, solutions-focused approach to advancing best-practice governance.
Enjoy generous salary packaging of up to $18,549 p.a., five weeks' annual leave (with the option to buy more), flexible WFH arrangements and onsite parking — all within a supportive culture that values you.
Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of:
Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
