**ABOUT OUR CLIENT AND THE ROLE**

Australian owned & operated, our client is a leader within the retail industry. This business has grown significantly over the last couple of years and as such the opportunity has arisen for a driven Payroll Officer to join their team for a 16 month maternity leave contract. An immediate start is ideal.

**RESPONSIBITLIES**
- Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:_
- Prepare, process and reconcile the fortnightly payroll for 370 full time employees;
- Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data;
- Manage the administration of the electronic payroll and timekeeping system;
- Process end-of-year reports and Payment Summaries;
- Ensure creditor invoices are distributed for internal authorisation in a timely manner and wherever possible;
- Prepare account reconciliations as required to ensure the accuracy of the payables/receivables records;
- Assist with the preparation of the year-end and statutory accounts;
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.

**SKILLS & EXPERTISE**
- Possess a Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent with at least 3 years experience within a similar role;
- Understanding of HR3 payroll system;
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with employees at various levels of the organisation;
- Be able to work independently and work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Understanding of multi award understanding required, General Retail Award, Storage and Distributions Award and Road Transport Award;
- Strong organisational and planning skills with a high attention to detail
- Be approachable with a strong customer service ethic and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
