In 2020 we launched our Program Advisory practice in Australia, as part of our global strategy to increase the consulting and advisory support we provide to our major clients. Our Program Advisory business advises our clients on how to set-up, transform, optimise, and operate major programs and projects across the infrastructure and natural resources sectors. With our Program Advisory business flourishing, we now seek an experienced Principal Consultant to join our Sydney team.

**Job Description**:
In this client-facing role you will work on a variety of consulting/advisory assignments. Each assignment is led by a Turner & Townsend director, and you would work as part of that multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients. Your knowledge and experience in delivering consulting and advisory services will be critical to our success. Specific role responsibilities are set out below.

The role is based in Sydney however business travel outside of Sydney may be required.

The primary responsibilities of the role are as follows:

- Being strategically involved with exciting and challenging commissions that improve the way our clients develop their capital strategy, allocate capital, and sets up major programs and projects for success.
- Providing best-practice advice and hands-on help to our clients in relation to establishing, transforming, operating and optimising major programs and projects.
- Deploying a variety of consulting techniques to improve performance across the capital and project lifecycle.
- Working as part of an integrated team, taking ownership of major workstreams and deliverables, directing and coaching more junior consulting staff.
- Supporting the definition and development of tools and techniques that support our service delivery.
- Supporting business leaders with business development and practice development.
- Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to provide value-adding advice and hands-on help to clients in the infrastructure sector or natural resources sectors, especially in the areas of establishment and operation of major capital projects and programs.
- A thorough understanding of business improvement approaches and frameworks (for example: business process definition, systems thinking, data analysis, change management).
- 4 to 6 years’ experience in a similar consulting role OR
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in a relevant role in the infrastructure / construction sector.
- Bachelor degree or other recognised professional qualification in one of the following fields: management consulting, business management, engineering, construction, procurement, contract management, project management, project controls or information technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm.

The following are beneficial but are not mandatory:

- Experience in rail, aviation, power & utilities, renewables, or defence.
- Experience in mining, renewables, oil & gas, or chemicals
- Experience in the construction sector in Australia or New Zealand.
