**About the role**

We are seeking a Consultant to join our fast growing and supportive external audit team, that offers a diverse client base, and incredible opportunities for growth and promotion. Working under the supervision and guidance of either a Manager or an audit Senior, you will be responsible for completing audit testing for a range of the division’s audit clients. You will be the auditor-in-charge for smaller clients, where you will run the entire assignment from the planning stage through to raising the final bill, and in some instances be responsible for the review of the financial report, completion of disclosure checklists, and preparation of the management letter.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare neat, concise and complete working papers for audit testing, including conclusions for all sections
- Act as auditor-in-charge for smaller audit assignments, where you will be responsible for completing the audit file; with special attention to the planning of the audit and completion of all outstanding matters
- Identify basic audit issues during the course of performing audit testing in relation to the knowledge gained about the client’s business
- Demonstrate a general understanding of the client’s business operations, needs and expectations
- Clear all Senior and Manager review points in relation to each audit assignment undertaken
- Deliver a high level of customer service to clients and follow up any client enquiries promptly and accurately
- Complete an audit assignment within budget and in accordance with any relevant deadlines
- Demonstrate an awareness of the planning memorandum, such that the level of audit testing conducted reflects the risks identified at the planning stage
- Work co-operatively with others, taking advice and feedback from Senior or Manager, and keep Senior or Manager informed of work in progress
- Delegate audit work to junior staff and instruct them appropriately
- Prepare or review a statutory financial report from a client’s trial balance and complete the relevant sections of the disclosure checklist
- Prepare a first draft management letter for smaller audit clients
- Complete analytical review procedures, including ratio analysis
- Demonstrate an understanding of materiality and its impact on audit work carried out
- Prepare basic tax computations as part of the audit process
- Assist with research and authorship of firm publications, which include the XYZ Model Financial accounts and the Audit Manual

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- 18 months to 3 years’ experience working in an Audit environment in a Chartered/CPA accounting practice
- Degree qualified and have commenced or intend to commence their CA/CPA studies
- Technically proficient and demonstrate a keen interest and desire to develop your knowledge and keep updated with the latest accounting developments
- Ability to work with junior members of staff by providing them with support and guidance and in some instances, act as a buddy
- Prior experience working with and be able to develop a good working relationship with clients
- Good time management skills and be able to prioritise work and meet deadlines for multiple clients
- Present professionally and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior experience working with the Microsoft suite of packages (e.g. Word and Excel)
