**About the team**:
Procurement supplies solutions. Coles Group is a top 30-listed ASX company with diverse needs from thousands of suppliers. Our team specialises in reducing cost and risk across our supply base. We partner with all areas of the business to develop and execute sourcing and contracting strategies that innovatively deliver sustainable value to our customers.

Our Digital & Indirect procurement team are currently seeking a procurement specialist to join the team. The procurement specialist will support the Category Manager - Digital & CX, in developing and executing on category specific strategies working with key internal and external stakeholders.

**About the role**:
As the procurement specialist you will support the category manager with analytical requirements to support the development and execution of Category strategies. You will be responsible for maintaining up to date Ariba activities, ensuring benefits are effectively tracked and reported while supporting the endorsement and approval of initiatives.

You’ll also:

- Oversee the ‘light sourcing’ procurement activity for digital and technology initiatives
- Track, monitor, analyse and provide insights to support the development of category strategies, sourcing events, and direct negotiations
- Conduct TCO (total cost of ownership), should cost, commodities management, benchmarking, and other analysis to enable better decision and management of suppliers and spend categories
- Lead and support the RFx process
- Provide analytical and operational support for strategic sourcing, SRM, contract performance management, reporting and other procurement activities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing processes, documents, templates, and policies.
- Support and engage stakeholders to develop and embed procurement initiatives and projects
- Support reporting activities for the Digital and Indirects team and broader procurement

**About you and your skills**:
We’re after a highly motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced and complex environment who is looking for a new challenge.

You’ll also need:

- Superior numerical and analytical skills as well as business acumen and excellent negotiation skills
- The ability to undertake research, collate and update market intelligence, commodity research and data mining for key categories
- A basic understanding of sourcing, category management, supplier performance management and SRM practices
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, as well as the confidence to push back where required
- Experience and understanding of TCO, should cost, and value chain analysis principles is preferred
