**The Role**

Seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead a complex infrastructure project in Southeast Queensland involving critical structural stabilisation and reinforcement works with our Civil division.

You will be working closely with the Project Manager and Supervisors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and managing relevant aspects of the construction and delivery of the project.

In addition to working with a high performing team, the successful applicant will receive ongoing project exposure allowing further development of technical and management skills. There will be an opportunity for a strong performer to progress their career and move into senior project and/or offsite positions.

SRG Global Civil division specialises in delivering complex engineering projects. Our focus typically includes:

- Dam Strengthening / Upgrades including drilling, fabrication and installation of high-capacity post-tensioned ground anchors.
- Complex bridge construction techniques such as incremental launching, balanced cantilever construction and stay cable works.
- Design and construction of precast post-tensioned water retaining structures.
- Slipform construction in silos, building or dams.

SRG has been operating since the 1960’s and have been involved in numerous iconic infrastructure projects both domestically and globally. SRG also undertake multiple projects as the Principal Contractor for various clients across Australia including road and bridge construction, wharf remediation and other water and wastewater structures.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure employees are undertaking activities safely and to the highest level of quality as per Project requirements.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, monitoring and analysis of work areas in conjunction with operational personnel.
- Address site safety concerns and problems and recommend solutions to key personnel.
- Provide safety and quality event management advice and support to site personnel.
- Lead and run investigations of site safety and quality events from end to end.
- Maintain knowledge of all industry applicable rules and regulations including government regulations, standards and policies.
- Collaboration with Management in the development of project risk assessments.
- Provide guidance and support to site personnel as required for the development and review of team-based risk assessments.
- Assist with identifying, developing, conducting and improving health, safety and quality training and orientation programs to educate project employees on health, safety and quality risks within the business.
- Report activities as required to the Project Manager.
- Attend and contribute to the scheduled Safety meetings with our client and within the group.
- Assist Project personnel with Injury Management and RTW in consultation with the Group Injury Management Business Partner.
- Facilitate internal training programs as required.

**The successful applicant will ideally have**:

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Previous experience in the construction industry
- Cert IV in WHS/OHS (minimum)
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desired)
- Internal Auditor Qualification
- Australian Drivers licence
- Proven Experience in leading Investigation Training
- Strong communication and people skills
- Strong computer and systems skills and knowledge
