**Who we are**

The Net Zero Economy Agency (NZEA/the Agency) is an Executive Agency within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C). Established on 1 July 2023, the Agency is focused on promoting orderly and positive economic transformation as the world decarbonises, to ensure Australia, its regions and workers realise and share the benefits of the net zero economy.

In September 2024, the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024 and Net Zero Economy Authority (Transitional Provisions) Act 2024 were passed by the Australian Parliament. The legislation provides for the establishment of the Net Zero Economy Authority (the Authority), which will commence in the near future. The authority is then expected to transition in early 2025 to being a separate entity from PM&C, at which time, all employees will transfer under Machinery of Government (MoG) changes to the authority.

The Corporate Strategy and Services Branch plays an integral role providing strategic and operational workforce and corporate services, to ensure efficient and effective operations of the Agency. The initial focus of the Branch is developing all of the corporate frameworks, systems and policies to enable the Authority to stand-up and operate as a separate entity.

The Branch supports the Agency by delivering high quality services through a wide range of activities including, human resources, financial management, governance and legal, and business and information services (including ICT, records management, security and property).

**What you will do**

We are seeking an experienced APS 5 Finance Officer to join the Finance Team within the Corporate Strategy and Services Branch. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Financial Accounting and Operations, the APS 5 Finance Officer will be responsible for accounts processing, credit card administration and travel and expense management.

In addition to the general responsibilities and duties outlined in the Work Level Standards for the APS 5 level, key responsibilities and priorities include (but are not limited to):

- Processing accounts payable batches within set timeframes.
- Maintaining creditor files.
- Raising accounts receivable invoices.
- Performing debt management procedures.
- Administering corporate credit cards and analysing credit card transactions for compliance.
- Providing advice to business areas on financial operations and travel matters.
- Supporting business areas with using NZEA’s financial management information system, TechnologyOne, and travel and expense management system, Expense8.
- Contributing to process improvements.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in establishing a dynamic new agency, and to share in the critically important challenge of supporting the net zero economic transformation of Australia. This role will allow you to work autonomously to manage and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as being part of a growing and supportive team.

A merit pool may be established and used to fill the same or similar vacancies for 18 months from the date of advertising.

**What you will bring**
- Experience in accounts processing and credit card administration.
- Experience in using TechnologyOne and Expense8, or similar financial management systems.
- An ability to work independently, with proven time management skills.
- Effective communication skills and an ability to build and sustain productive working relationships.
- Highly-developed analytical skills and attention to detail.
