**About the role**:
The Manager, Health Performance Gippsland is responsible for leading a team that monitors health service performance. The role also coordinates and leads responses to new and emerging issues and risks relating to metropolitan, rural and regional health services. Demonstrated competency in monitoring financial, quality and governance issues, well developed analytical and conceptual skills, relationship management and the ability to manage tight deadlines are critical to the role.
The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including health service Chief Executive Officers, health service executives and a range of program and policy areas within the department. The Hospital and Health Services Division leads strategic commissioning of health and aged care services, focusing on system service design and improvement, in partnership with clinicians, service providers, and the community. The division leads operational policy development and implementation, resource allocation and funding, and driving improvement across the Victorian health system.
**About you**:
The Manager, Health Performance Grampians is responsible for leading the commissioning, performance management and compliance oversight of metropolitan and/or rural and regional health services across Victoria.
The role also supports the management of the department's relationship with health services in Victoria and is responsible for resolving operational issues in partnership with health services
**Key Role Responsibilities**
- Strategically design and develop the delivery of departmental objectives that impact significant localised service delivery and meet statewide departmental and government objectives and community expectations
- Maintain an understanding of issues impacting the department's clients and investigate and lead critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards and operating practices that enhance service delivery, budget effectiveness, efficiency and improved client outcomes.
- Forge strong connections across the department to ensure integration and coordination across all health programs and with external stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach
- Provide strategic thinking and future planning and oversee change management initiatives and integrated approaches to enhance compliance with department-wide policies
- Lead performance monitoring of health services, including being a key point of contact for the service, managing the performance cycle, local performance issues and escalating where appropriate to meet statewide departmental and government objectives and community expectations.
**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**
**Qualifications**:
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, business and/or management would be desirable
Specialist Expertise
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in managing and supporting ministerial, cabinet, parliamentary and departmental executive functions and processes would be desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in Aged Care or disability sectors in Victoria and/or the Commonwealth would be advantageous.
