**THE ROLE - SAFETY OFFICER**

As a Safety Officer you will facilitate and create all aspects of the employee’s safety, and ensure that all legislation is adhered to, for the safety of everyone.

**PRIMARY ROLE FOCUS**
- Health & Safety support to relevant business units.
- Maintenance of safety management systems at site.
- Execution of individual work task timely as assigned by the Safety Manager and/or Senior Manager Operations Safety, Risk and Compliance
- Report progress update to your manager
- Ensuring that all EHS business and individual responsibilities are met and monitored.
- Ensuring that activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements.
- Building and maintaining effective, productive relationships with all stakeholders within the business for EHS.
- Participate on Safety Person on Call within safety team on a rotational basis including weekdays after hours and weekends/public holidays.
- Perform the functions of the Site Safety Officer
- Maintain and review Safety documentation.
- Provide relevant training and support to the business to continuously improve safety functions and operations
- Taking reasonable care to protect your own and others health and safety.
- Report, hazards, incidents and injuries /illness.
- Adhere to EHS policies and procedures and comply with all instructions and requirements for EHS.
- Observe all company policies and
procedures

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS**
- Previous experience in a safety role essential
- Safety officer experience
- Certificate III or above in OH&S
- Prior Transport Industry knowledge advantageous
- Knowledge of relevant legislations and act
- Computer and software capabilities
- Ability to learn in house systems quickly
- Highly organised
- High level of accuracy
- MS Office Suite (intermediate / advanced)
