Melbourne Airport is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Airside Safety Officer in our Airfield Operations team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and compliance of the airport for aircraft operations. Working alongside our skilled Senior Airside Safety Officer leadership, you will proactively conduct daily serviceability inspections to the highest standards, engage with our stakeholders, and adhering to the guidelines outlined in Melbourne Airport manual and procedures. As well as the above, you will also be undertaking the following:

  • Meeting team Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and completing daily serviceability inspections and audits to a high level.
  • Following and enforce Airfield Operational policies and procedures.
  • Participating in all training requirements for the role and ensuring ongoing competency is met.
  • Educating internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the airfield is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Participating in airport accidents/incident as per the Airport Emergency Plan.
  • Ensuring safety obligations are met and participating in a 'Just Culture' environment.
  • Assisting the Senior Airside Safety Officer with the team's safety initiatives and portfolio.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in working collaboratively in an airside environment.
  • A basic understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • A passion for customer service and sound communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a fast paced shift work, highly regulated environment.
  • A calm decision marker with excellent situational awareness.
  • Knowledge of airfield policies and procedures and a basic understanding of CASA MOS Part 139.
  • Experience in using reporting systems (via tablet) and computer skills (MS Office suite).
  • Willingness to learn and work in a dynamic team.
