**Purchasing Officer (Defence)**:

**About you**

You will bring your extensive purchasing and / or inventory controller experience, preferably within the Defence environment, to this supply chain position which can be based in most locations across Australia, with remote working options.

You are able to work autonomously, prioritise demands and maintain composure when there are multiple complex tasks on hand.

You enjoy the opportunity to collaborate within a close-knit team, and play your part in achieving common goals to support the Royal Australian Navy assets.

**About the role**

In this role you will conduct urgent and high priority procurement and purchase order activities in support of Babcock for both services and materials for the Landing Helicopter Docks and Anzac Class Frigate programs, ensuring urgent and high priority materials and services are available for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

You will also work closely with the URDEF (Urgent Defect) Manager to track and coordinate materials and services to support defect rectification.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain)
- Extensive procurement / purchasing experience within a similar environment
- Defence experience preferred, supporting ADF logistics operations or ship repair
- Proficient computer skills - MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- MILIS, LNIDS, IFS (or similar ERP) system experience
