As a Commercial Manager joining our Resources and Industrial division, it is vital that you align with our values and can demonstrate these consistently. Based in Adelaide you will business partner with our senior leaders to fully identify risks for existing and new business proposals and develop and communicate mitigation strategies and options. You will be supported by 4 direct reports as you seek to maximize our R & I profitability and return on capital whilst minimizing risk. This a great developmental role, offering customer facing activity, negotiating outcomes for customers and engagement through tender processes. You will be analyzing business performance and work with the leadership team to implement performance plans to improve outcomes and develop tactical and strategic plans to drive it to the next level.

As the Commercial Manager, you will be:

- Working closely with the BU Finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis of business trends and performance.
- Maintain and produce budgets and quarterly forecasts for your portfolio.
- Develop business cases for capital investment, restructuring, change in scope of service/product offering, new business opportunities etc. with local business unit staff.
- Develop sound and accurate cost/financial models generating IRR Evaluations, What if, scenario and sensitivity analysis etc
- Building robust Financial models from the ground up when tendering for new business, requiring the ability business costs/margins into a formats applicable for tenders
- In conjunction with your direct reports, provide analysis to management and business units to make informed decisions aimed at maximizing profitability for a given level of risk
- Contribute to effective client management through involvement in commercial negotiations, business proposals and preparations and presentation of client reporting packs
- Manage negotiations with customer and supplier contract renewals, new contracts liaising with legal and management team
- Manage contract change requests, ensure up-rates are managed together with FX management, rise/fall clauses etc

**Qualifications**:

- Degree qualified in commerce, business or associated field
- CA/CPA qualified

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial role.
- Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Proven experience in customer facing contract negotiations.
- Previous CAPEX preparation experience with a value over $1-10 million.
- Sound accounting knowledge and internal controls capability.
- Excellent analytical capability and sound commercial acumen.
