We are currently looking for an experienced Facilities Operations Officer for one of our client. As a Facilities Operations Officer you will be assisting the Coordinator Building & Facilities Operations in supervising contractors and minor capital works projects in an effective and efficient way.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure Council’s Building Assets are maintained in accordance with the Asset Management Plan.
- Ensure organisational and customer outcomes are achieved.
- Review and monitor programmed maintenance activities.
- Carry out minor maintenance duties.
- Ensure all customer service requests are appropriately actioned and recorded from receipt to finalisation.
- Undertake major maintenance works.
- Organise quotations and arrange for sub-contractors to carry out specific maintenance work and arrange access to Council facilities as necessary.

Position Requirements:
Essential:

- Possession of an appropriate building qualification in Builder’s Registration, Building Supervision or Building Construction, or a recognised equivalent.
- Previous relevant experience within the building industry and in particular, building maintenance.
- Previous exposure to project management within the building sector.
- Ability to effectively supervise contractors, in order to achieve agreed team outcomes.
- Ability to acquire the appropriate legislative endorsements e.g. Construction Induction - Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) in combination with a good understanding of the Work, Health & Safety requirements relevant to this position.
- Possession of, or ability to acquire, a current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
- Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months).

Desirable:

- Possession of materials ordering experience.
- Previous exposure to budget preparation and management.
- Proven knowledge of applicable Acts and Regulations relevant to Buildings.
