The Role

Workforce Strategy Branch is seeking the right people to play a key role in helping build the people dimension of Defence capability. Defence is undergoing a transformation and workforce planning has a significant role to play in shaping the future and informing the development of the workforce.

About our Team
The Organisation Design & Management Directorate (ODAM) works with the rest of Defence to effectively meet strategic and business objectives from a workforce standpoint and leads and contributes to enterprise projects. ODAM helps integrated business areas to develop optimal workforce planning, design and organisation through careful planning processes, work value assessments, APS Job Family and position management. ODAM ensures that workforce design and position establishment is compliant with policy and legislation.

Do you build and sustain productive working relationships and enjoy working collaboratively to achieve business objectives? Are you are organised, willing to learn and possess strong written communication skills? Are you customer and results focused with stakeholder engagement experience? Are you interested in research, critical thinking and analysing data to ‘tell the story’ to enable well-informed decision-making? Do you have qualifications and/or an interest in workforce planning, organisational psychology or human resources? At the APS6 classification level, you may be required to supervise others.

A merit pool will be established from this process to fill further vacancies over the next eighteen (18) months.
