Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land - the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
The Gallery attracts around 2 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
With our expanded campus the Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

**About the Role**
The Head of Business Development is responsible for attracting and securing new business with corporate, media and government sponsors as well as grants and other funding opportunities to support Art Gallery exhibitions, programs and activities.

**What technical / soft skills you require**
- Substantial experience and success in securing financial and strategic partnerships with a broad network of industry and business contacts, and knowledge of business environment including current trends, issues and economic climate.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or direct industry experience in securing and managing sponsor relationships and managing a sale and servicing team.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and meet strategic objectives and milestones.
- Well-developed leadership skills to lead, coach and support a team.
