**The Team**
The position of Program Coordinator forms as part of the Sport and Recreation Victoria branch within the Sport, Recreation and Racing group.
**The Sport, Recreation and Racing Group**
Sport, Recreation and Racing (SRR) is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and the Office of Racing.
SRV aims to create greater sport and active recreation participation opportunities for all Victorians in order to maximise economic, social and health benefits and enhance Victoria's liveability.
This is achieved by supporting the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events and the Minister for Community Sport in the management of major sports facilities, administering grant programs that develop community facilities, strengthening the capacity of sport and recreation organisations, developing more active recreation and other innovative options to increase overall participation rates, reducing barriers to participation for specific population groups, supporting world-class sporting events and Victoria's high performance sport sector, and reinforcing the role that sport and active recreation plays in growing the Victorian economy, supporting jobs and building stronger communities.
The Office of Racing administers racing legislation, supports and implements the government's racing policy objectives and facilitates the ongoing relationship between the government and stakeholders within the racing industry. The Office of Racing supports the Minister for Racing.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Adviser, Major Projects, within the Sport, Recreation and Racing (SRR) Group, the Program Coordinator will provide support to the ongoing development and management of Victoria's strategic sport infrastructure network.
The Strategic Infrastructure and Sport Economy (SISE) Unit provides leadership in strategic planning, business planning, project management, and the provision of high-level advice on complex sport facilities and matters. The Unit has a specific focus on the ongoing development of Victoria's national and international sporting competition and event facilities. This network of major stadia, arenas and centres are collectively defined as State Facilities and include 49 key venues in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
The Program Coordinator will contribute to the achievement of the Victorian Government's sport and recreation policy outcomes during all phases of the sport infrastructure project lifecycle. Your work will be guided by a range of policies and strategies including the Active Victoria Framework and Victoria's major stadia strategy _(Home Ground Advantage) _which provides a game plan for planning and investment decisions focusing on major oval and rectangular field-based stadia and indoor arenas which host national and international sporting events.
Working closely with the Adviser, Major Projects, the Program Coordinator will undertake a wide variety of tasks relating to the development and operations of Victoria's State Facilities network. This will include managing funding agreements, developing briefings and correspondence, contributing to corporate reporting, providing program administration and project management support and other administrative tasks as required.
The position will be required to liaise with a diverse range of government, industry and public sector stakeholders to gather information and provide advice to Victorian Government Ministers and the department's senior decision makers on complex matters.
The Program Coordinator position associated with the 2026 Commonwealth Games is fixed term (up to 4 years) in accordance with the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2020 Section 17.3 (b) (iii) undertaking a specified task which is funded for a specified period.
