**Your opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Innovation Project Officer to join our Compliance Services Unit to deliver key projects from concept to implementation, including continuous improvement, business transformation initiatives and the operational plan and budget. The everyday focus will be identifying, developing and delivering business improvement initiatives to optimise service improvements which will be guided by our Values. The Compliance Services Unit is made up of Council’s:
- Animal Management Team, which includes the Animal Shelter.
- Compliance Support Team who manage parking across the City.
- Local Laws Team who enforce Council’s Local Laws including some State Legislation.
- Compliance Response Team, who respond to compliance related activities on our Bay Islands.
This is an amazing opportunity to focus on innovation and improve the way we deliver our services to the Redlands Coast community. The upcoming projects for this role will include reviewing how we manage infringement notices, and creating a framework to deliver best practice initiatives that support the keeping of domestic animals in the City.

**What you’ll bring**
You will have a passion for innovation and making a difference, you will thrive in a busy compliance environment, where you will enjoy managing projects, researching and developing project plans, and will have experience in a similar position. Your change management methodologies will be critical in this role to achieve success, and your ability to build professional relationships and influence others is of key importance. This role will see you collecting data, analysing, organising and reporting information.
You will be a creative thinker, and have a desire to be innovative and think outside the box. You will be a self-starter who thrives in a high workload environment. With a confident communication style, you are good at maintaining high standards of discretion and have proven ability to handle difficult situations with tact and sensitivity. Team work skills, with the capacity to deliver results and meet objectives, are essential.
You will be a transformation champion for technology and operational improvements and recognise opportunities that benefit the community in all that the Unit does. Experience using continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, User Centred Design or similar will be well regarded.
You will be dynamic, resilient, a champion, able to create partnerships, and an influencer in this role, with the experience to manage transformation through its various stages to achieve community benefits.
