**About the role**

**Salary range: $30.48 - $33.05 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and**access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900** +**access to many staff benefits**

**What you’ll be doing**

The Theatre Orderly is responsible for assisting with the transportation of patients throughout the hospital pre and post-surgery. Assisting nurses and doctors with manual handling of patients, setting up and cleaning of medical equipment and medical gases. All transport will be onsite across both Townsville Mater Hospitals
- Attending regular staff meetings and trainings
- Patient transfers and delivering excellent customer service and patient care
- Perform required tasks under the direction of medical and nursing staff
- Equipment auditing
- Clean contaminated equipment and other used items as required
- Assist with basic patient care as requested under supervision of nursing staff

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- A high level of understanding of infection control procedures and processes
- Experience working as an Orderly within a hospital setting (desirable not essential)
- Effective communication and ability to understand instructions
- Effective organisational skills and time management
- Ability to work without supervision and within a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrates correct techniques of patient lifting, moving and transportation
- Physically fit and enjoy a fast-paced working environment
