It’s not just about our global network of offices; it’s the global interconnectedness of the Firm that our people, and our clients, value most. We work well together across geographic and practice boundaries. It’s one of the reasons we attract and retain cross-border work, and why we attract a diverse group of people.
Our lawyers are globally minded, enterprising, collaborative and committed to excellence. Diversity is a core value of our Firm and it has been recognized with numerous awards and top rankings around the world. Our people represent 90 nationalities and speak 80 languages.
**Our Practice**
The Firm is seeking an Associate for the **Land, Environment & Planning** team specialising in property issues for Australian projects based in the Sydney office.
Since our arrival in Australia in 2016 our Australian practice has grown to 32 partners and 80 lawyers across Sydney and Melbourne. Our teams work with clients in every state of Australia, across the Asia-Pacific region and around the globe on all aspects of the energy, infrastructure, mining & metals sectors, and on high-profile public market and private equity M&A transactions.
We offer clients legal services throughout the full life cycle of their projects, assets and ongoing operations, including environment & planning, ESG, project development and finance, corporate advice, M&A, antitrust, tax, litigation and arbitration.
**The Opportunity**
As an associate in the **Land, Environment & Planning** team you will have opportunities to work on high-profile matters that involve providing strategic advice on land tenure required to develop power, mining and infrastructure projects.
You will also work closely with colleagues in project finance and project delivery to assist clients on tenure risks and complex land arrangements associated in financing, sale or acquisition of a project. In addition, you will link with White & Case’s global Real Estate team to assist on transactions in other jurisdictions.
We advise sponsors, investors, commercial banks, multilateral lenders, export credit agencies, insurance companies, underwriters, governments, contractors and off-takers.
It’s not just our cutting-edge approach to achieving our clients’ goals that sets us apart, it’s our people. You will work with a diverse group of lawyers and support staff across our Australian domestic, regional, and international offices who are as much friends as colleagues.
We strive for an environment that fosters collaboration and encourages our people to approach issues with new thinking while employing the established expertise and skills of our senior lawyers.
