We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join the growing Property Team of this leading national firm, with a focus on residential, commercial property and leasing matters. This is a senior role, assisting senior lawyers in the leadership of the practice, particularly across leasing and property-related banking & finance assignments.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise while contributing to the professional development of a national team. You will work with a broad client base, providing strategic advice and innovative solutions, while ensuring efficient and accurate delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting for both landlords and tenants, preparing leases and lease-related documentation (assignments, variations, renewals, surrenders, etc.)
  • Managing sales of residential and commercial properties, including mortgagee in possession transactions
  • Advising on discharges, estate management, contaminated land, tax treatment, and Crown leases
  • Supervising and mentoring paralegals and junior solicitors across a national team
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, drive efficiencies, and improve client service delivery
  • Supporting the leadership of the property practice and assisting in driving growth initiatives

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a motivated and technically strong property lawyer who brings:

  • Significant post-admission experience in property law, with a focus on leasing, residential, and commercial transactions
  • Strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and a solutions-focused approach
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage high volumes of files and deliver within fixed timeframes
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with the ability to supervise and support junior team members
  • A proactive mindset, with commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
