The Regulatory Officer performs a critical function for the Authority, tasked with undertaking Special Projects to drive and execute key regulatory projects in line with the Organisational Strategy and the directions of the CEO/Registrar and Governing Board. Within Victoria, the Regulatory Officer will deliver compliance and enforcement outputs, which may range from stakeholder education to statutory outcomes such as penalty notices and prosecutions.

The Portable Long Service Authority is an independent statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme began on 1 July 2019 to ensure eligible workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries can build up long service benefits based on time in their industry, rather than with a single employer.

**About the role**

The Regulatory Officer will work as part of a collaborative team promoting voluntary compliance with the Act and Regulations. With a field-based focus, the Regulatory Officer will undertake compliance and enforcement inspections and participate in investigations under the Long Service Benefits Act 2018 (Act) and Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 (Regulations). Within Victoria, the Regulatory Officer will deliver compliance and enforcement outputs, which may range from stakeholder education to statutory outcomes such as penalty notices and prosecutions and where required, provide evidence at courts and tribunals in the capacity of an Authorised Officer.

**About you**

As the Regulatory Officer, you will possess:

- Demonstrated experience undertaking Compliance Investigations in a Victorian Regulatory environment.
- Ability to foster productive working relationships with stakeholders, customers and team members.
- High level verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and service excellence skills, with the ability to deal effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
